A Amazon anunciou nesta quarta-feira (20/4) seu novo serviço de empréstimo de livros de bibliotecas norte-americanas para usuários do país. O serviço será suportado por todas as gerações do Kindle e também pelos aplicativos da marca. Mais de 11 mil bibliotecas deverão participar do projeto.
“Os nossos usuários poderão pedir determinado livro na biblioteca mais próxima e começar a lê-lo a partir de qualquer dispositivo Kindle ou aplicativo gratuito para Android, iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone, PC, Mac, BlackBerry ou Windows Phone”, afirmou a Amazon em nota oficial.
A nova tecnologia, apelidada de Whispersync, permite que o usuário armazene todos seus marcadores de página e favoritos. Assim, quando adquirir um desses livros que já foram emprestados, todas as preferências já estarão salvas no dispositivos.
A companhia espera que o novo serviço traga novos usuários para o Kindle e, eventualmente, ajude a Amazon a distribuir o aparelho gratuitamente no futuro.
