Do servidor, a foto será distribuída para os outros equipamentos do usuário, incluindo iPad, Mac e PC. No servidor, as fotos vão ficar por 30 dias. No smartphone e no tablet, vão permanecer armazenadas as últimas mil imagens. Se a pessoa quiser guardar permanentemente algumas das fotos, basta movê-las par outra galeria. Já no PC e no Mac, todas as fotos ficarão guardaO que torna esse recurso atraente é o fato de ele gerenciar automaticamente as fotos e o espaço usado para armazená-las. Assim, ele deve agradar às pessoas que não têm tempo ou vontade para ficar organizando e copiando arquivos manualmente.
2 Armazenar até 5 gigabytes de arquivos
O iCloud deverá oferecer, a cada usuário, um espaço de 5 gigabytes no servidor. Mas os aplicativos comprados na App Store, as fotos da galeria Photo Stream e os livros baixados da loja da Apple não entram na conta da ocupação de espaço. Nos países onde a loja iTunes vende músicas (o que não inclui o Brasil), elas também não contam. Assim, os 5 GB podem ser ocupados por documentos pessoais, mensagens, fotos que não fazem parte do Photo Stream e dados dos aplicativos. Para isso, 5 GB é bastante espaço.
3 Editar um documento em vários dispositivos
Se alguém tiver, por exemplo, uma apresentação ou uma planilha no iPad, poderá vê-la e editá-la também no iPhone, no Mac e no PC. Se tudo funcionar como promete a Apple, não será preciso se preocupar em ficar transferindo os documentos de um equipamento a outro. Isso será feito automaticamente, via nuvem. No início, esse recurso deve funcionar apenas com alguns aplicativos. Com o tempo, outros desenvolvedores devem adequar seus programas para que também façam a sincronização com o iCloud
