A instalação dos equipamentos na frota será gradual. A princípio, o serviço será oferecido em cerca de 250 voos diários
A Gol Linhas Aéreas vai disponibilizar aos clientes conexão Wi-Fi gratuita em algumas de suas aeronaves, a partir do dia 1° de setembro (vale destacar que não é conexão à internet, mas uma rede wi-fi independente que dá acesso a conteúdos específicos, providos pela empresa). Segundo comunicado oficial, a instalação dos equipamentos na frota será gradual, sendo que o sistema já está implantado em 35 aeronaves. A princípio, a companhia vai oferecer o produto em cerca de 250 voos diários, principalmente na Ponte Aérea entre Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo. A previsão é que haja expansão para cerca de 380 voos diários até o fim do ano.
Junto da conexão Wi-Fi, a companhia também está lançando o “Gol no Ar”, o novo portal da empresa que trará conteúdos variados por meio de iPhone, iPads, iPods Touch, netbooks e notebooks equipados com a tecnologia sem fio e, futuramente, estará disponível para outros tipos de tablets e smartphones.
O conteúdo será atualizado automaticamente a cada pouso em nove aeroportos: São Paulo/Congonhas, São Paulo/Guarulhos, Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont, Rio de Janeiro/Tom Jobim-Galeão, Belo Horizonte/Confins, Salvador, Porto Alegre, Brasília, Belém e Fortaleza.
De acordo com a companhia, o novo entretenimento de borda da companhia terá notícias, artigos de jornais e revistas, programas de TV, esportes, jogos e canais de música.
