Rede lançará ‘hotel inteligente’ que usa smartphone para controlar quarto
A rede de hotéis britânica Whitbread lançará em 2014 uma nova linha de apartamentos “inteligentes” que permitem que os usuários façam reservas e controlem o quarto por meio do smartphone. Chamado de Premier Inn ‘hub’, o hotel terá sua primeira unidade em Covent Garden, em Londres e oferece um quarto pequeníssimo, de 12 metros quadrados, com cama, banheiro com chuveiro, uma smarTV de 40 polegadas, mesa de escritório e conexão Wi-Fi.
De acordo com a rede, serão os primeiros quartos de hotel que os usuários poderão controlar por meio de um aplicativo. Desse modo, será possível fazer a reserva e o check-in, controlar temperatura do quarto e a iluminação à distância antes de se entrar no local.
O celular ou tablet servirá como controle remoto da TV e do rádio. Até mesmo o serviço de quarto funciona por meio do smartphone, permitindo pedir comida, por exemplo.
No hotel Premier Inn, localizado em Kings Cross, em Londres, há cinco quartos experimentais do tipo. A empresa planeja abrir cinco “hotéis inteligentes” no Reino Unido nos próximos três anos, um total de 1 mil quartos.
