O que explica a diferença de preços entre Xbox One e PS4 no Brasil?
Para quem não acompanhou o desenrolar dos fatos de uma das maiores bombas do mercado de games brasileiro dos últimos anos, a empresa japonesa divulgou que o Playstation 4 chegará ao Brasil por assustadores R$ 4 mil.
Enquanto isso, o One, que desde sua apresentação foi mal visto pela maioria do público interessado, aparece como a melhor alternativa para quem gostaria de ter um console oficial, com garantia e assistência técnica no Brasil. Ele custa quase a metade do preço, R$ 2,2 mil, custo alto em relação ao preço nos Estados Unidos (US$ 500), mas muito abaixo do valor praticado pela Sony, cujo aparelho custa US$ 400 nos EUA.
Como essa diferença de preços acontece? Como um console mais barato no exterior consegue chegar ao Brasil e custar duas vezes mais caro do que o principal concorrente? A resposta é complicada.
Impostos não são uma desculpa para a Sony. A empresa tem se apoiado no fato de que entre 60 e 70% do custo são tributos para o governo, o videogame concorrente também possui a mesma carga tributária e possui a metade do preço. Um cálculo lógico aponta que, mantendo a proporção de custos em relação à concorrente, um preço adequado (não barato) seria de cerca de R$ 2 mil.
A Sony já confirmou que o primeiro lote de consoles a ser vendido no Brasil será importado, o que realmente encarece o produto. Alguns podem achar que “a Microsoft produzirá o console no Brasil”, mas isso também não é verdade, como confirmou uma fonte ligada ao assunto ao Olhar Digital. Os primeiros modelos do Xbox One a chegar no Brasil também serão importados.
É possível, sim, que o problema da Sony não se limite a uma possível “má-fé” na hora de colocar um preço em seu produto. Talvez as margens de lucro não sejam tão altas assim, em relação ao Xbox One, como informa esta fonte. O que talvez possa explicar esta vantagem da Microsoft seja uma série de condições positivas para a empresa que desenvolve o Windows.
Segundo a fonte, a Microsoft teria uma maior entrada no país. Esta posição a colocaria um passo a frente no Brasil, a ponto de conseguir barganhar melhores condições de negociação com os distribuidores.
Outra possibilidade é que a Sony, embora reafirme constantemente a importância do Brasil para sua estratégia de mercado, talvez não veja o país como tão estratégico assim, o que explicaria um baixo número de aparelhos a serem distribuídos em território nacional e também justificaria um preço alto, contando com a alta expectativa do mercado. Afinal, é aquela velha história do capitalismo: oferta e procura.
Esta última alternativa pode ser ressaltada pelos números da participação do Playstation 3 no mercado brasileiro. Uma pesquisa da GfK divulgada em janeiro deste ano afirma que 85% dos consoles de última geração no Brasil são Xbox 360. Os outros 15% são divididos entre o PS3 e o Wii.
