De um lado temos a poderosa Apple, de Steve Jobs, com seu sistema operacional pioneiro entre os smartphones. De outro, a Google, que conquista cada vez mais espaço, colocando o sistema operacional Android em vários aparelhos

Em nossa opinião o smafrtfone de Jobs é melhor por possuir vasto leque de aplicativos. No geral, os aplicativos do iPhone são mais interativos. O aparelho agora é Multitasking e possui câmera frontal.
Porém, a Apple limita vários recursos e o iPhone é muito dependente do iTunes. Ficar do lado do iPhone é saber que você nunca vai ter acesso ao Google Voice no seu celular e que jamais terá a liberdade de poder instalar o Opera no lugar do Safari, ou usar flash por exemplo.
Android
O Android veio para ser o inimigo da plataforma fechada da Apple, completamente Open Source e independente do iTunes. Começou com aparelhos mais lentos, maiores e mais feios que o iPhone, sem multitouch e sem uma série de outros recursos que consagraram seu concorrente. Mas o sistema evoluiu rápido. Desde seu surgimento, na forma do G1, até o primeiro celular branded do Google, o Nexus One foi uma longa caminhada e hoje o sistema está maduro.
Hoje quem quiser um aparelho com Android encontra opções tão bonitas, e com hardware de qualidade igual ou superior a do iPhone.
A conexão opcional com contas do Google e o suporte oficial também são outros pontos de destaque. Um aplicativo dedicado do Gmail só o Android tem. Sincronização nativa de contatos wireless ou 3G. Também é possível configurar todo o telefone apenas entrando seu gmail.
Apesar do crescimento veloz, o Marketplace do Android ainda é apenas uma pequena fração da App Store. A falta de moderação da App Store do Android acaba por gerar alguns frankensteins, com interfaces péssimas. Hoje as interfaces do SO já são tão boas quanto as da Apple, mas isso ainda não é verdade para o Marketplace.
